Solar panel Energy Converting Working Mode

Latest company news about Solar panel Energy Converting Working Mode

How does solar panel work?

Solar panels work by converting energy from the sun into electrical energy that can power homes and businesses. They contain the following main components:

• Photovoltaic cells - These are made of materials like silicon that absorb photons of light and knock electrons loose, allowing the electrons to flow through the material to produce electricity.

• Metal plates - There are two thin metal plates on each side of the solar cell. These plates collect the electrons and convert them into an electric current that can power a device.

• Semiconductors - Materials like silicon are used as semiconductors in solar panels. When sunlight hits the silicon, it allows the electrons to flow through the material.

• Solar absorber - The solar cell contains a solar absorber, like silicon, that absorbs the photons of light from the sun. When the photons are absorbed, they excite the electrons and allow them to flow through the material.

• Insulators - Insulating materials are used around the edges of the solar cell to prevent current leakage. These allow the current to flow in one direction.

• Metallic substrate - A thin metallic substrate, like silver or copper, is used on the surface of the solar cell to collect the electrons and convert them into an electric current.

• Wires - Metal wires are used on the edges of the solar panels to carry the electric current to an inverter and then to a power grid or for usage.

• Encapsulant - An encapsulant material covers the surface of the solar cells and protects them from environmental damage. It helps seal and protect the components.

That's the basic idea of how solar panels harness solar energy and convert it into electricity.
